New ! Just Arrived ! Moldavite
from the Czech Republic !  Moldavite is one of the most precious and rare
gem crystals known today. About 15 million years ago there was a
meterorite shower in the Moldau Valley of Czechoslovakia. The result of
this shower is moldavite, a rare crystal of a bottle-green, translucent
hue. It fell in an area covering some 500 square kilometers of the Moldau
River Valley in the Czech Republic. Moldavite has been prized for thousands of years and has long been the gift chosen by European royalty. It is believed by many to have been the green stone in the Holy Grail, which was said to be an emerald that fell from the sky. At least one legend has the Grail carved entirely from moldavite. Moldavite is the only known tektite with gemstone quality. Nearly everyone is able to feel the energy of moldavite. Many sense it as heat, tingling or a pulsing sensation. Some feel a rush of energy, so using it with another grounding stone is a good idea. It is a "Stone of Communication" and stimulates cooperation and the transfer of energies. Moldavite is said to enhance psychic abilities. It is a very powerful chakra opener and balancer. Moldavite helps to release all that is no longer needed for personal growth: old ideas: leftover emotional habits, whatever you know on a deep level needs to go. protective mechanism against disease and insects -- that has hardened and
been preserved in the earth's crust for millions of years. Often regarded
as a gem, amber is actually an organic substance whose structure has
changed very little over time, unlike that of other fossilized material,
in which organic matter is replaced with minerals. Over 2,500 years ago it
was discovered that when amber was rubbed against cloth, sparks were
produced. This energy force was given the name “electricity” after the

Last month we touched on the mathematical ratios that Pythagorus
discovered and used as the basis for our 12-semitone musical system. We
explored in-depth, the interval of the Perfect 5th with its ratio of 2:3.
This month's Feature Article is about the musical interval of the Perfect
4th, and its simple ratio of 3:4.
Like the Perfect 5th, the Perfect 4th interval contains very little musical tension. No drama here, no conflict, just a nice, open sound. Humans have an affinity for the simplest of ratios, and the Perfect 4th fits that description well, with its ratio of 3:4. In the first three overtones of any struck note, we hear ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 2:3, and 3:4, in the intervals of prime, octave, Perfect 5th, and Perfect 4th. Yes, all of that from just one fundamental note! Notice that these are all very pleasing and consonant intervals, with little or no musical tension. Our brain does not go on high alert, and our body can float along with the frequencies. It is also interesting to note that if we reverse the order of notes, a Perfect 5th (C to G) becomes a Perfect 4th (G to C), and vice versa. One could then say that these intervals are complementary to each other. We can extend this to other fundamental notes of the scale and see that D to A, and A to D have this same relationship, as do E to B, and B to E, and lastly F to C and C to F. If you have listened to Gregorian Chants, you may have recognized that composers used the intervals of the Perfect 4th and 5th almost exclusively. It was not until just before the Renaissance that another interval was introduced, namely the Major 3rd, which became the basis for building melody and chords. Let's look now at the metaphysical properties of our 4th energy center, the Heart Chakra. The Heart Chakra is associated with the heart, lungs, blood and circulatory system, thymus gland, immune system, and the entire chest. It is where our Spirit resides. It is represented by the color green, which is a renewing energy and a restorer of peace; a restful color of balance and the color of nature, fertility and life. Working with the Heart center brings balance and opens one to more compassion, more understanding, more love. It also aids in opening the Throat and Third Eye Chakras. The element of the Heart Chakra is Air, and it relates to our sense of inner touch. The Heart is the center of the Chakra system and, as such, helps facilitate a smooth flow of energy between all the chakras. The corresponding stone is rose quartz, green jade, moldavite, or ruby. We talked last month about the metaphysical properties of the Root Chakra, so I won't repeat them all here, other than to say it is the energy center that deals with survival, grounding, and passion. Can you imagine now, the interplay that happens when you hear both a C bowl and an F bowl, sounded together? The deep C note grounds our physical body to the Earth mother, allowing us to be nourished and fed, while the F note opens our heart to receive more love, more compassion. Opening the Heart helps all the other Chakras to open and balance, leaving us in a blissful, peaceful, state. While the Root Chakra helps us deal with what "we have" and Heart Chakra helps us with learn more about what "we love."
